Our Struggles, Our Voices – Against the Racist Normality! Saturday, August 10th, 3:00 PM Erfurt Main Station

We all know that state elections are coming up in the fall, and the AfD has deportation plans that threaten all our lives. But for years, we as Black people and People of Color, as refugees and migrants in East Germany, have been experiencing this reality.

At many demonstrations against the right-wing, there has been little room to address these issues: deportations under parties of all colors, the fear for relatives in our home countries or in the Mediterranean, the daily harassment by immigration authorities, social services, and job centers. The inhumane accommodation in camps, the newly reintroduced payment cards, and the compulsory work or existing work bans. On top of that, there are right-wing threats and attacks on the street, at school, or at work.

Many of us have no vote in the fall. But we have voices. We will take to the streets together to give space to our anger and pain. Because we are here, we will stay here, and we will continue to fight. Against the racist status quo and for freedom of movement.

It starts at 3:00 PM at Erfurt Main Station with speeches and musical acts.

Come in large numbers, bring your friends and families. Let’s connect, celebrate, and fight together!

There is no place for nationalism, racism, antisemitism, queerphobia, sexism, islamism, and ableism at the demonstration. Please do not bring national or party flags and maps.
